I had completely forgotten about this track, till a recent online convo about Stones Throw records’ long list of affiliated mcs, and why they weren’t still releasing records by these obscure, yet brilliant rap cats. Anyway, after a quick search, the nice people at HHV.de (that’s where you can buy records at) sent me this near mint, it’s still got mad static, copy of a criminally underrated 12 inch. Whilst a lolloping science fiction beat by the infamous Peanut Butter Wolf rolls in the back, Grand regails the listener with his tale. Lets leave it at that…. in my opinion this record needs to heard from start to end….. an absolute genius portion of conceptual sci-fi storyteller rap, completely eclipsing the once genius of Kool Keith for a whole ‘nother level. Oh, and the b-side bangs too.
